Obituary: Helen "Honey" Hearn Baker, 90

Helen (Honey) Hearn Baker, age 90, and wife of the late Robert F. Baker for 61 years, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Wilton Meadows in Wilton.  Honey was born September 9, 1923 in West Milford, NJ, the daughter of the late Harry and Helen Hearn Rhinesmith, and had lived there all of her life.  

She was a graduate of Bucknell University with a BA in English and was the Class of 1944 reporter for 69 years since graduation.  Honey and Bob were the recipients of the Loyalty to Bucknell University Award in 2003.  

She was very active in West Milford over the years with the PTA, Little league, Lindy’s Lake Assoc.,  Macopin Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, band parents and American Field Service.     

Honey is survived by her children and their spouses Robert Baker, Jr. and his wife Martha of Norwalk, Katherine Sarro and her husband Thomas of Newburgh, NY, Thomas Baker and his wife Nancy of Langhorne, PA, and Timothy Baker and his partner Phong Chu of Chicago, IL, four granddaughters, Lisa Baker, Laurel Guilbert  Kyle Baker and Rebecca Sarro, and a great granddaughter, Maggie Breault.
