Obituary: Griffin Conway, 22

A memorial gathering will be held on Sat., October 19, from 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street in New Canaan. Interment will be private.

A service will be held for Griffin Conway, 22, of Wilton, formerly of New Canaan, who died on Thursday, Oct. 10. 

Born in Hong Kong, June 15, 1991, Griffin Robert Conway was the son of Gary and Mimi Forlenza Conway, according legacy.com. Griffin lived most of his life in New Canaan graduating from New Canaan High School in 2009. He attended college part time and worked at area restaurants, having a keen interest in the restaurant business. He was an avid boxer, snow boarder and wake boarder with a love of the outdoors. He had a lifetime love of basketball and coached youth basketball teams.

In addition to his parents, Griffin is survived by his brother, Marcus Conway of New Haven and his sister Madeline Conway of Wilton, according to legacy.com. Also surviving are his maternal great-grandmother Mary Boja, maternal grandmother, Eleanor Forlenza, both of Ann Arbor, MI and paternal grandmother Anne Conway of Cupertino, CA.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday October 19, 2013 from 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street in New Canaan. Interment will be private. On Tuesday afternoon, Lt. Donald Wakeman of Wilton Police identified Griffin Conway as the 22-year old from Deepwood Road who died on Oct. 10. The cause of death has not yet been determined. The Connecticut Medical Examiner said toxicology reports could take up to four months. 

The family of the deceased was not immediately available to comment.
