Happy Ending for A Wilton Senior's Roof Trouble

A couple months ago, Patch ran a Letter to the Editor from a senior citizen Wilton woman whose roof suffered from a shoddy repair job. Thanks to caring readers, the roof got fixed!

This letter is long overdue but I do want to let all of you with advice and offers to help know - hallejuah, the roof is done!

As of almost 20 days ago, the roof is now completed by a new roofing contractor and carpenter!  It has been a long haul since August but the results are in and the peace of mind is now settling in too.

My daughter came in from Germany to take care of me after my spinal operation in October and bore the brunt of the difficulties; doing everything from real hard labor and doing research, making phone calls, meeting with the authorities, etc., etc.  She really had everything thrown at her and because of people like yourselves who cared to contact us, she did not lose her faith in people and felt their kindness through their letters to us.

And it is with enormous gratitude to Craig Donofrio, Editor at The Wilton Patch, that he saw fit to publish my original letter.  Things could have been very different and might have taken longer - like waiting for the spring of 2012 - while worrying through the winter!

Bless all of you, and may the New Year be one filled with all that is good for you and your loved ones.

With much gratitude,

That 82-year-old-lady who finally got the roof done before the snow came!
