A new study in Australia shows that young adults in affluent families are living with Mom and Dad longer than their less wealthy counterparts.

"Three quarters of 20-year-olds from wealthy backgrounds live at home, while less than two-thirds of young adults whose families used welfare still rely on them for financial support, the report finds."

In the U.S., adult children who move back home have been dubbed 'boomerang kids.'

According to a Pew study, 30 percent of young adults 25-34 are now living at home, compared with around 11 percent back in the early eighties when many of those boomerangers were born.
