End of summer celebrations take shape in many forms. Some families take a long weekend get-a-way, others host backyard picnics, while still others represent Labor Day by taking a day of rest from work, which includes not cooking.
Here's a simple and easy guide to assist you in throwing a laid back, yet elegant Labor Day Soirée that will allow you to relax and enjoy the last few glorious days of summer.
The décor~
Go monochromatic with various shades of white for linens. Use hints of earthy, beachy colors such as greens and blues for a calm, soothing effect.

Cards are always a fun thing to play but try going for something a little different. The local toy store offers unique games meant for kids that can be fun for adults as well. Trivia games can be played without a board. A favorite of ours is a new game by the makers of the popular game Cranium that is called Yamodo.

Take advantage of the "End of Summer" sales that are so popular this time of year.
