Tim Herbst Praises Polansky, Acting Exec. Director of Stern Village

by Tim Herbst

I want to thank the Trumbull Housing Authority for acting quickly to name an interim Executive Director.  Harriet Polansky is a long time Trumbull resident who has demonstrated a strong management background and a consideration for the infirm and the elderly.

I believe her organizational skills, coupled with her compassion and pleasant disposition will be a welcome change at Stern Village.  In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the reports from our emergency management team and first responders were very clear and underscored the need for fundamental reform.

I believe Mrs. Polansky will act quickly to implement the emergency preparedness plan and also make sure we have adequate generator capacity in the event of future weather related emergencies.  I also believe that Mrs. Polansky will work hard to build a better relationship between Stern Village and the Trumbull Senior Center.

More importantly, I am confident that Mrs. Polansky will treat every resident of Stern Village with dignity and respect.  I wish her well as she assumes her new responsibilities.

Mr. Fuchs, I agree but you did start this discussion. And I quote "Why do people continue to post comments on this and other sites without identifying themselves?"

But there is a Joe Taylor.

I apologize for trying to replace the noise with the signal. Go ahead, rant at each other. Stop dealing with the issue. Knock yourselves out.

Mr. Preko - In re Mr. Flynn you posted an argument ad hominem. What is it with Mr. Flynn's ideas you oppose?

Here's what she has done so far: Dismantling a security camera trained on an exterior doorway of the meeting hall; Ordered portraits of the founders of Stern Village to be discarded; Drove the long-standing secretary (she started in 1992) to quit her job within days of Polansky starting because of asinine and picayune tasks; Told the secretary not to bother come to work at her normal time one occasion because the Executive Director was “having people over;” Closes the Director’s office at all times; All of this in a few short weeks!
