Alleged Credit Card Thief Charged with Failure to Appear

She turned herself in to police custody on Feb. 5 at 11:15 a.m.

A 47-year-old Bridgeport woman turned herself in to police custody after learning there was a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in the second degree.

According to police, Verla Reid was a former employee at the Four Seasons Racquet Club in Wilton when she allegedly stole a fellow employee's credit card and made $392 worth of fraudulent charges at four separate locations in 2008.

Reid was eventually arrested by Bridgeport Police, who determined there was a warrant out for her arrest. Reid never showed up in court to answer those charges, and turned herself in once learning there was a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear.
