The parents should be charged with endangerment for raising children with such a lack of common sense and respect. The first thing you teach a child is gun safety, or was it easier to buy them the guns and send them into the woods shooting anything they want while you take time out for yourself? Any child raised correctly would have known not to point a gun at a person or animal. Good job parents!

I think as far as kids go in Wilton the age 15 is the new 7!
Elyse June 29, 2012 at 07:11 PM
I'd love to know WHY they did such a stupid (and dangerous) thing.
Rational Wilton Mom June 30, 2012 at 01:55 AM
If only there would be arrests for all the adults speaking on their cell phones or texting while driving. Talk about endangerment. Accidents from such recklessness would certainly cause more than a red mark. BTW, whose private property were they on? Seems like some facts are missing here.
The boss June 30, 2012 at 02:32 PM
Airsoft guns are made for shooting at each-other. As a Wilton Teen I would know first hand. We started playing with them when we were in 6th grade. The guns probably hurt as a much as a small pinch. How ridiculous! The guy couldn't sort it out with the parents instead he had to get the police involved like a child! Its just like a paintball gun except it hurts way less

Until you hit someone in the eye...
Alexis June 30, 2012 at 03:35 PM
No guns are meant to be shot at each other you moron. Also, it was enough to leave a red mark through clothing at least 20 minutes later... I agree you went to school in Wilton. Yes they can severely damage someone eye.
Alexisknows0 July 01, 2012 at 07:40 PM
Oh god a red mark! call 911, theres a red mark on his back, i dont think its going to heal! to be honest we used to wear goggles to protect our eyes... Im sure the kids didnt mean to hit the man. You just got the kid in trouble. Alexis is a biased drunk wilton mother! woooo
Four Jacks July 01, 2012 at 08:01 PM
I agree with Alexis. Hopefully the Wilton kids posting here are exceptions, like the ones that killed Nick.
Alexisknows0 July 02, 2012 at 03:02 AM
You are pathetic for saying that, four jacks. People have strong feelings about Nick, including me. There's no need to bring that into the conversation.
Jlo July 02, 2012 at 03:36 AM
Moronic behavior led to Nick's death and shooting someone with an airgun is moronic behavior, I think four jacks is dead on in this case.
Jlo July 02, 2012 at 03:40 AM
These airsoft guns are modeled to be replicas of real guns so if parents are going to let their kids have them they need to teach them how to handle them like a real gun. I believe the one in the picture is a model of a Sig P226, the gun carried by Navy SEALS and most special forces, the real deal version will leave a lot more than a red mark.

Just curious about what would have happened if a Wilton police officer was on the scene and saw these boys in the act shooting a person in the back.
Jlo July 02, 2012 at 03:38 PM
Thats the thing, these guns look exactly like the real thing except for the orange barrel tip, you take that off an no one would know its an airgun...pull that out in front of a cop and you are probably going to get shot.
Alexis July 02, 2012 at 06:03 PM
The Boss and Alexisknows0 are obviously the same teen boy. This proves what I've been saying, these kids have no common sense, they aren't taught right from wrong and it's a disgrace.
Elyse July 02, 2012 at 07:30 PM
Anybody who saw the Christmas Story movie must remember the immortal line "You might shoot your eye out!" (or words to that effect). You may not kill someone with an Airsoft gun, but if you hit someone in the eye, or ear, you could do serious damage. You do NOT point and shoot a gun at another person. Paintball is different, as you're geared up, you've got on protective goggles, etc.

A few facts to maybe calm the discussion: 1) Airsoft guns have varying power, but most are indeed low enough power that they can be (and are designed to be) used to shoot at other people, with propert training, supervision and protective gear. Lots of tournaments and play arenas in CT (including some only minutes from Wilton), and kids (particularly teens) do participate safely in great numbers. AirSoft guns are not assault weapons, even if modeled to look like them (and they very much do, which is a lot of their appeal). 2) Shooting at people outside of the circumstances listed above is dangerous, dumb and worthy of punishment, unless done in some extraordinary circumstance of self-defense. If they were plinking on their own property and hit someone by accident, then they should pay for the "accident" and very poor judgment. If they targeted someone deliberately (as a prank or otherwise), then they should get hit with criminal charges. 3) It is illegal to shoot bb or pellet guns in Wilton, FYI, unless some exceptions like self-defense, animal issues and/or you tell the police first. The full rule is on the town's website. All that said, we don't know the full story to launch into a full judgment about how terrible the boys' actions were or how this reflects on all Wilton teens' lack of common sense. The boys definitely did somethign wrong - they shot and hurt someone with a BB gun, but that's all we know. Linking this to an unsolved murder is unwarranted.
harpers July 04, 2012 at 05:52 AM

airsoftmaster July 09, 2012 at 04:04 AM
yesss. completly agree
airsoftmaster July 09, 2012 at 04:05 AM
what are guns meant for then?
airsoftmaster July 09, 2012 at 04:08 AM
I am an airsoft god and you know nothing.
airsoftmaster July 09, 2012 at 04:14 AM
As an airsoft god, I would like to point out that airsofting is a wise thing to do and should be added to the olympics. Clearly Alexis doesn't appreciate airsoft and doesn't know anything about it. She shouldn't be making statements that she know nothing about.
