Police responded to a 2:50 a.m. forced entry burglary at a Valeview Road residence in Wilton early Monday morning, according to police.
The homeowners were sleeping at the time of incident, but awoke when the burglar(s) made a loud noise; the suspect(s) fled out the back door, police said. When police responded to the scene they brought a K-9 unit from Norwalk and the police dog tracked a scent into a nearby driveway, which was at that time empty, police said.
Additionally, two unlocked cars parked in a neighbor’s driveway were rifled through but nothing was stolen, said police.
Police could not release the amount of valuables stolen or the method of forced entry at this time. Police did not know if one or more suspects were involved.
