Complaint about Erratic Driving on Rt 7 Results in DUI Charge

On Jan. 18 a vehicle was stopped as a result of a complaint that a vehicle was driving erratically southbound on Danbury Rd.

According to Wilton Police Lt. Wakeman, the operator of a 2012 Toyota Sienna, Danielle Tagariello, 45, of William St in Norwalk, did not successfully complete standard field sobriety tests and was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Her BAC tests were .1323 and .1289. She was charged with DUI and Failure to Drive Right and later released on a Promise to Appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 28.

According to Lt. Wakeman, witness tips aid the police in getting drunk drivers off the road. Wakeman said that when complaint comes in, police usually ask the witness to stay on the phone. Wakeman said that in those instances the public safety outweighs the rule against using a phone while driving.
