Danbury Man, 55, Busted for Speeding, DUI on Rt. 7 in Wilton

On Dec. 14 at 12:55a.m. a Wilton Police officer driving south on Rt. 7 near 4-Seasons saw two cars traveling much faster than the posted speed limit, northbound. The officer turned around and caught up to the cars at the red light at Rt. 107.

According to Wilton Police, when the light turned green, the car in the right land lurched forward, spinning its wheels, causing the vehicle to momentarily skid sideways before accelerating rapidly in the right lane. The vehicle was stopped in front of Bruce Bennett Nissan. The operator James Rosvold of Danbury refused to submit to a breath test and failed standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI.

He was issued a Misdemeanor Summons charging him with DUI, Unsafe Movement of Stopped Vehicle and Traveling Fast.

Rosvold is expected in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 26, 2013.
