Driver, 17, Injured by Airbag in Collision

On Nov. 19 a 17-year-old Westport driver in a 2007 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Westport Rd when a 2012 Mazda driven by Lawrence Manning, 23, of New York, NY was traveling southbound on Westport Rd.

Manning began to make a left turn onto Chestnut Hill Rd in front of the Accord, colliding into it at the intersection of Westport Rd and Chestnut Hill Rd.

The 17-year-old operator of the Honda Accord complained of minor injuries as a result of the airbag deploying, but refused emergency medical treatment. Manning was issued an infraction for failing to grant the right of way at the intersection.

Should read, Driver saved by airbag deployment, suffers minor injuries. Just saying :)

You're right Dan. Point taken. I've seen an airbag deploy and it was both lifesaving and terrifying.
