6/28: Police pulled over a vehicle for travelling 60 mph near the intersection of Rte. 7 and Rte. 35, a road with a 35 mph speed zone; the vehicle travelled to Skunk Lane before stopping for the officer, according to police. Upon pull over, police said that they smelled alcohol on the driver, identified as Stephen Ruttkamp, 54, of Old Wagon Road in Wilton. Ruttkamp failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DUI, according to police.
During routine post-arrest inventory of the vehicle, police said they found a loaded .38 five-shooter revolver between the center console and the driver’s seat. Ruttkamp did have a valid weapons permit, but since he was arrested for DUI and the weapon was in the vehicle, Ruttkamp was charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated in addition to DUI and speeding, according to police. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
6/27: A wallet containing $1,200 in cash, an Italian driver’s license, and a Romanian ID card was reported stolen from the Cactus Rose Cantina’s restroom at about 8:30 p.m., police said. The wallet is described as black leather Polo wallet; the owner of it is an employee of the restaurant. Those with useful information are asked to contact the .
6/30: Two wallets were reported missing during a party on Nod Hill Road, police said. One person reported leaving a wallet in his car, and a female reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse which she brought to the residence.
