Brian Schoonmaker, 27, of 209 Catalpa Rd in Wilton was located in one of the restroom stalls after Wilton Library had closed by maintenance staff on Nov. 15, according to Wilton Police.
Upon police arriving, the accused was located in the restroom stall partially responsive and was holding a can of Dust-Off. According to Wilton Police, Schoonmaker had been was directed to exit the stall by library staff and was observing placing the can of Dust-Off into his coat pocket. Staff was alarmed that Schoonmaker was in the building past closing time and possibly inhaling chemicals in the restroom.
According to Lt. Wakeman of Wilton Police huffing is not a crime but, "Obviously it has a known detrimental effect on the central nervous system."
Schoonmaker was charged with Breach of Peace.
