William R. Hastings, 22, of 72 Ridgedale Rd. in Fairfield was stopped by Wilton Police on Danbury Rd. for an expired registration on Sept. 12, 2013.
Hastings, who could not produce a valid insurance card and whose 2000 Nissan Frontier had not been emissions compliant since 2011, according to Wilton Police, got into further trouble when his car contents were inventoried for valuables prior to being towed.
According to Wilton Police when the console was opened up there was the strong odor of marijuana and a green leafy substance, suspected marijuana, was located. Hastings was issued a misdemeanor summons in the field with a Sept. 26, 2013 court date at Norwalk Superior Court and was released in the field.
