Two motor vehicle accidents and downed electrical wires mark the week for the fire department.

  • 12:56 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 6:52 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 8:45 AM: School Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 3:18 PM: Hurlbutt Street, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 4:20 PM: Millsotne Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 8:28 PM: Orems Lane, fire alarm.  Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.

  • 11:25 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 1:00 PM: Danbury Road, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 6:28 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 8:03 PM: Dudley Road, motor vehicle accident.  Two car accident, firefighters assisted with patient care, and provided lighting for investigation of incident.
  • 10:32 PM: Catalpa Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.

  • 12:15 AM: Chestnut Hill Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 3:28 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 7:39 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 8:05 AM: Old Kingdom Road, fire alarm.  Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.

  • 10:33 AM: Nutmeg Lane, electrical problem.  Upon arrival, FD personnel observed lights in the building dimming and then becoming extremely bright.  Firefighters investigated but where unable to determine cause.  CL&P notified and incident turned over to them.
  • 1:49 PM: Danbury Road, motor vehicle accident.  Car vs. truck.  FD personnel check for injuries, none reported.  
  • 4:25 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 5:05 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 7:05 PM: Cedar Road, smoke in the area.  Report of the smell of smoke in the area, upon investigation source determined to be a campfire.  No hazards present.

Tuesday, May 4

  • 9:30 AM: Kensett Avenue, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 12:05 PM: Ridgefield Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 12:52 PM: Pipers Hill Road, fire alarm.  Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 11:57 PM: Woodhill Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.

  • 1:44 PM: Newtown Turnpike, motor vehicle accident.  Two-car T-bone type accident.  Firefighters assisted with treating one injured party, and contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.

Thursday, May 6

  • 3:51 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 7:35 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 7:54 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 3:10 PM: Little Brook Road, electrical wires down.  Upon investigation, firefighters determined the wire to be cable TV.  Cable Company notified.
  • 8:14 PM: Greenbrier Lane, electrical wires down.  Upon arrival FD personnel found a tree down on the electrical wires.  Area secured CL&P notified.

Friday, May 7

  • 8:06 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 2:38 PM: Spoon Wood Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.

Saturday, May 8

  • 3:57 AM: Village Court, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 7:08 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 3:09 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 3:27 PM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
  • 5:21 PM: Sugar Bush Court, wires down. Upon arrival FD personnel found a tree down on electrical wires.  Area secured, CL&P notified.
  • 5:34 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care, assisted EMS and paramedic.
  • 10:38 PM: Newtown Turnpike, arcing wires.  Upon arrival FD personnel observed a tree leaning into electrical wires and arcing.  CL&P notified, CERT request to assist with securing area.
