Larceny Behind Caraluzzi's Market

A van's catalytic converter disappeared overnight from behind Caraluzzi's Market.

A 2012 GMC Savana van owned by Caraluzzi's Market  and parked at the rear of the market on 920 Danbury Rd. had its exhaust system unbolted from the undercarriage during the overnight hours of Sept. 10, 2013, according to Wilton Police.

The catalytic converter was stolen and the remainder of the exhaust system was left on the ground under the van, according to police.

"We see this once in a while, typically at car dealerships where they hit multiple cars in a lot overnight. This is unusual," said Lt. Don Wakemen. "We don't know if there's a reason they targeted this particular vehicle."
