On Dec. 31, 2013 David Palombo, 62, of Wilton was charged with DUI, Failure to Surrender License/Information and Failure to Keep Right on Curves by Wilton Police.
According to Wilton Police, a witness reported a 2008 Mini Cooper driving erratically, crossing the double yellow line and traveling over the fog line north on Belden Hill Rd, Drum Hill Rd and Ridgefield Rd. The operator, later identified as Palombo, was fund to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
According to Lt. Wakeman, police caught up with Palombo in his driveway, where he was resistant to exit his vehicle and refused to surrender his license, which resulted in additional charges. Palombo failed to complete the standard field sobriety tests. According to Lt. Wakeman the suspect told the arresting officer that since he was already in his driveway he didn't understand what the officer wanted him for and declined to disclose where he had been traveling from.
