Man Tries To Fraudulently Withdraw $9,000 from a Wilton Bank

The bank employees did not the the man withdraw the money.

Employees at Wells Fargo Bank reported to police that on Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m., a well-dressed and heavyset black male entered the bank and attempted to withdraw $9,000 from an account using a fake Florida driver’s license.

The suspect is guilty of attempted larceny, identity theft, criminal impersonation and criminal trespass, police said.

Police said other Wells Fargo Banks in the area are reporting the same issue.

Three Fairfield teenagers were caught with marijuana and alcohol following a motor vehicle stop on Danbury Road, near Deerfield Road, on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2:09 a.m.

According to police, officers observed the vehicle drifting between the two southbound lanes and pulled it over.

Officers then found marijuana and alcohol in the car. Charges were as follows:

  • Kendall Upshaw, 19 — failure to drive right, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of alcohol by a minor
  • Robert Chizmazia, 18 — possession of one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor
  • Allison Steferak, 19 — possession of alcohol by a minor

They were each issued infractions with a March 8 response date.
