Man With Expired Visa Allegedly Groped Woman in Wilton

The accused is said to have rubbed a 27 year-old woman's backside at Brookdale Place in Wilton.

Police arrested a 34 year-old man identified as Bismark Nana Kofi Nitiri, who was living in Brooklyn, NYC but is from Ghana, for fourth degree sexual assault on May 8, reports state.

Allegedly, Ntiri was working at a geriatric care management company which had placed Ntiri at Brookdale Place, a senior living facility in Wilton. Allegedly Ntiri followed a 27 year-old woman as she was pushing a senior citizen, possibly in a wheel chair, towards the dining area, police said. Ntiri then told the woman to cover up and “pull her shirt down”—possibly because as the woman leaned over her back was exposed—and then “rubbed her buttocks” according to Captain John Lynch of the .

Reports say that witness saw Ntiri apologizing after the incident. Ntiri told police that he had touched her shirt but denied groping her, stating that he felt her “ ’attire was inappropriate for the workplace’,” according to police. The victim was also working at, Brookdale Place and was also an employee of another contracted company; she reported the incident immediately after it happened, reports state.

Nitri’ had been working under the pseudonym of “Kwado Amankwah” and although he had given false information to his employers in regards to a criminal history background check, has “no criminal history,” according to police reports. It was also found that Nitri’s “work visa expired in 2010,” and has since been arraigned and detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement after being held on $5,000 bond, police said.

Lynch did not immediately know the name of the company where Ntiri had been employed.
