A Monroe man was arrested on July 31 after damaging seven mailboxes along Danbury Road with his vehicle, according to Captain John Lynch.
Christopher King, 52, of 326 Moose Hill Road, was traveling north on Route 7 when an officer noticed that one of King's headlights was out, Lynch said. The officer pulled King over on School Street and noticed that there was fresh damage to the front of his vehicle on the right side and pieces of wood stuck in his headlight.
King told the officer that he hit some mailboxes after possibly falling asleep at the wheel. King was charged with failure to drive in the right lane and evading responsibility for a motor vehicle accident. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 8.
