Naked Greens Employee Helps Himself to Extra Greens

Khurum Villaovares, 19, of 32 Catherine St. in Norwalk was arrested on Sept. 5, 2013 for larceny in the 5th degree at his workplace, Naked Greens, at 239 Danbury Rd., according to a report from Wilton Police.

Villaovares was arrested after his boss contacted police explaining the employee had been caught on tape stealing a customer's wallet containing $30, according to the police report. The customer left the wallet with a reported value of $500 in Naked Greens and returned to the restaurant later in the day. The customer was contacted by someone who found the wallet in a park in Norwalk, according to Wilton Police.

Police reviewed the surveillance tape with the store owner. The tape showed Villaovares sitting down for lunch, leaving the restaurant and returning with a shirt, which he placed over the wallet before leaving with the wallet inside the shirt, according to Wilton Police Capt. John Lynch.

The Naked Greens owner confronted the employee, Villaovares, who confessed and was issued a summons for larceny, according to Capt. Lynch.
