New Canaan Teen Caught With Pot & Beer

The teen was issued a juvenile summons on Friday, Oct. 12.

A 17-year-old New Canaan male was charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor following a motor vehicle stop on Friday, Oct. 12.

According to police, an officer observed a vehicle heading south on Main Street moving faster than the posted speed limit of 30 m.p.h. The officer followed the vehicle, which didn't slow down.

The officer then pulled over the vehicle. An odor of marijuana was detected when police interviewed the driver. The vehicle was searched, and the officer found marijuana and rolling papers inside the center console, as well as beer in the back seat.

The youth is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.

I can't believe Mary told her daughter that story. New Canaan parents don't need to get a grip on their kids. Mary needs to get a grip on herself. I don't think our kids are that desperate for ten bucks. Also I don't think Mary waited til 21 to sip alcohol. I believe it was her that said on a blog u should be 21 to buy cigars. That makes a lot of sense you can go to war risk you life and vote at 18 but can't buy cigars. Lol that makes a lot of sense.
