Norwalk Man Who Drove into Wilton Woods Charged with DWI

Wilton police charged the man after he allegedly failed to manage a turn out of a parking lot.

 

A Norwalk man was charged on a number of motor vehicle and drug charges after he allegedly drove into the woods off River Road, police announced Wednesday.

According to authorities, John P. Curley, 23, of Toilsome Ave., was traveling east in a parking lot at 21 River Rd. on Thursday, Dec. 20, when he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign or negotiate a turn onto River Rd.

Curley allegedly traveled across the road and into the woods there, according to police.

He faces charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without proper insurance, being in violation of the "restricted use of left hand lane on a divided, limited access highway," possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell.
