Parts of Wilton Still Without Power Following Fierce Thunderstorms

Following fierce thunderstorms and high winds that tore through Fairfield County on Tuesday evening, 453 of 7,322 CL&P customers in Wilton — or about 6 percent of the town — were without power as of 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to the utility's online "Outage Map."
Trees are reportedly blocking numerous roads and power lines have come down in some neighborhoods. According to a report in the Wilton Bulletin, Ridgefield Road between Belden Hill Road and Drum Hill Road is closed due to a large tree which fell and took electrical wires with it in the early evening Tuesday.
