Police: Attempted Stop & Shop Shoplifting Under Investigation

There is an ongoing investigation into an attempted shoplifting incident in Wilton, according to police.

A male and a female allegedly pushed a filled a small and a regular-sized shopping cart out of the south side of Stop & Shop without paying on July 13 at 3:46 p.m., police said.

The store manager reportedly came out of the store and yelled at the two in the parking lot, at which point the two suspects allegedly left the filled carts and drove away, according to police.

The items in the cart were worth approximately $1,560, police said.
