Police Log: DUIs and a Marijuana Cigarette

DUIs and marijuana possession mark the week.

  • Bruce Robinson, 24, of Wilton was arrested as a passenger in a vehicle. Police pulled the vehicle over and detected an odor of marijuana. The operator consented to a search of the vehicle and police discovered a backpack belonging to Robinson that had a marijuana cigarette inside it. Robinson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was issued a misdemeanor summons and released. He has a May 7 court date.

Saturday, May 1

  • Robert Field, 26, of Monroe was headed southbound on Route 7 and crossed over the center line toward a police officer. The operator was followed and observed operating erratically. The operator failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody and charged with DUI and failure to drive right. He was released on a PTA with a court date of May 13.

  • Christian M. Yingling, 24, of Westport was traveling south on Route 7 and stopped in the right hand lane behind two police cars that were parked with their roof emergency lights activated. The vehicle proceeded south on Route 7 after stopping and was followed and the driver's operation was recorded. The operator failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She was released on a PTA with a May 20 court date. She was charged with DUI and failure to drive in a proper lane.
