Ridgefield Man, Danbury Woman Charged with DUI

Wilton Police made two DUI arrests last week.

Ryan Melahn, 23, of Ridgefield was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive in the established lane after police stopped him on Danbury Road, near Scribner Hill Road, on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 9:04 p.m.

According to police, the department received a complaint that someone was driving erratically north on Danbury Road. After they located the vehicle, police found Melahn to be under the influence.

He was released on a promise to appear at a Dec. 5 court date.

Jacqueline Willmott, 46, of Danbury was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper use of high beams after she was stopped on Danbury Road for failing to reduce her high beams on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 a.m.

According to police, Willmott was heading north on Danbury Road when she was stopped near Route 107. Police then learned Willmott had consumed alcoholic beverages before driving. She was unable to perform field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody, where she failed to submit to chemical testing.

Willmott was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 4.
