Ridgefield Police: Like Shooting Fish in A Barrel

Ridgefield Police charged numerous people with marijuana infractions outside the Ridgefield Playhouse in the last week.

Police smelled marijuana when they walked by a car parked outside the playhouse at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Inside, they found Golden Hawk, 48, Thistle Road, Norwalk, was carrying marijuana. She was given an infraction that charged her $150. A passenger in the car, Scott Wall, 40, Nicholas Avenue, Stratford, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction with a fine of $136.

 About 30 minutes later at 8 p.m., Ridgefield police in uniform approached a group of men and watched one man lighting something hanging from his mouth. Police charged Joseph Samantilli, 39, Mimosa Circle, Ridgefield, with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged a total of $286 in fines for the infractions.

In a separate incident five minutes later at 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 4, Ridgefield police saw a man smoking something in a pipe while sitting in a car. Kevin Matson, of Ridgefield, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined $136, and is expected to respond to the infraction by Oct. 21.

In a separate incident at 7:55 p.m. Oct. 6, Ridgefield police in uniform walked up to Edward Hoffstatter  44, Deer Run, Wilton, was seen lighting an object in his mouth. Police charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. These infractions include fines of $286, which are due on Oct. 22.

This information was provided by the Ridgefield Police department. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.
