Ridgefield Woman Charged with DUI in Wilton

Police responded to two alcohol-related incidents in town last week.

Jennifer Cannon, 43, of Ridgefield was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive right following a motor vehicle stop on Belden Hill Road, near Old Farm Road, at 12:24 a.m. on March 20.

According to police, officers observed Cannon operating erratically while heading north on Belden Hill Road. After stopping her, Cannon failed field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody where her blood alcohol content was determined to be .228.

She was released on a promise to appear in court April 1.

Ian Johnson, 18, of Middlebrook Farm Road was issued an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor after police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the cul-de-sac of that road on March 23 at 2:16 a.m.

Upon investigation, police found Johnson and a female asleep in the backseat of the car, which was running. They also found a bottle of vodka in the car, though there was “no level of intoxication that rose to the level of DUI,” police said.

Police contacted a parent, who later removed the car.

This headline looks familiar. Is dwi/dui really a crime you all need to fill space and column inches every week or so? Count yourselves lucky and fortunate. Better than the trials for the beheading of 3 young family members by 2 illegal aliens for the second time in about 8 years in my town.

One drunken soccer mom and a couple of drunk teenagers getting down to business in a backseat....I'm pretty sure the stuff in this column happens hundreds of times every week in Wilton.

To blow a .228 she must have been nearly dead.

What ever happened to parking at Shaeffer Circle? Brings back memories.
