Barry C Smith, 21, of 13 Knollwood Dr in Newtown was stopped for speeding on Oct. 26 on Danbury Rd and Old Mill Rd in Wilton.
Smith, who was stopped for doing 62 miles per hour in and 40 MPH zone, was slurring his words and there was a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle, according to Wilton Police.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Smith had been driving under the influence, according to Wilton Police, who added that Smith's BAC was .15
A "crusher container" used to crush marijuana into fine particles was found along the driver's side panel containing less than 4 oz. of marijuana that tested positive.
According to Wilton Police, Smith was arrested and released to his father on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Nov. 7, 2013.
