Stamford Man Arrested for Wilton Deli Safe Robbery

His accomplice was arrested last month.

Chester Jones, 45, of Stamford was arrested on Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree for his role in the November 2011 theft of a safe from Wilton Deli.

According to police, Jones was arrested in his apartment on a warrant. 

On Nov. 1, 2011, Jones and his accomplice, Christopher Yarrell, allegedly stole a 140-pound safe containing $4,100 in cash from the deli, police said. Yarrell was arrested for his role in the crime last month.

Jones was released on $5,000 bond and given a Dec. 18 court date.
