Theft, Vandalism of Political Signs Reported Around Wilton

The good news for the GOP and the Democrats (if there is any) is that the culprits don't appear partisan.

Wilton Police received numerous reports of thefts or vandalism to political signs throughout town last week. The culprits appeared to either be nonpartisan or apolitical, as Republican and Democratic signs were victimized.

Incidents were reported on New Canaan Road, Ridgefield Road, Chestnut Hill Road, Hurlbutt Street and Cedar Lane, police said.

This isn’t the first time this election season where signs around Wilton have been vandalized or stolen. Police Captain John Lynch said those caught vandalizing or stealing signs could be charged with larceny in the sixth degree, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
