Police charged a Bridgeport man with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop for an unregistered motor vehicle.
According to police, Demetrious Whitfield, 36, was driving on Kent Road, near Danbury Road, when he was stopped for the motor vehicle violation. , was called to the scene after police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the car. A small zip lock bag containing suspected marijuana was then discovered.

Avery Salveson, 19, of Fairfield was charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled him over for speeding on Danbury Road, near Ridgefield Road, on Dec. 16 at 12:58 a.m.
Salveson was issued an infraction ticket with a Jan. 4 response date.
