Unconscious Wilton Man with "Dust-Off" on His Lap Charged for Trespassing & Pot Possession

A Wilton man admitted to "huffing" but there are no specific inhalant laws in Connecticut. The man, 27, was charged with Trespassing and Possession of Marijuana.

Brian Schoonmaker, 27, of 209 Catalpa Rd in Wilton was charged with Simple Trespass and Possession of Marijuana on Oct. 20, 2013 at 2:40a.m. after Wilton Police received a call of a suspicious person in the area of 15 River Rd who appeared to be "huffing" from a can.

Officers located Schoonmaker unconscious, leaning against a building on private property with a can of "Dust-Off" in his lap, according to police.

Schoonmaker admitted to huffing the contents of the can. Suspected marijuana was located in his possession and accused was cited for Simple Trespass and Possession of Marijuana and transported to Norwalk Hospital.

Of "huffing," to Lt. Donald Wakeman said huffing is not a crime. "There are no specific inhalant laws in Connecticut. No specific criminal penalty," Wakeman said.
