Weston Man Charged with DUI in Wilton

The stop occurred on Jan. 12.

Robert Miressi, 59, of Steep Hill Road in Weston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and two counts of failure to stay in the proper lane following a motor vehicle stop in Wilton on School Street on Jan. 12 at 11:39 p.m.

According to police, officers observed Miressi driving near Bruce Bennett Nissan on Danbury Road, traveling south. Officers saw him cross the double yellow line, entering the northbound lane. Miressi then put on his left turn signal while he was straddling two lanes.

Officers pulled Miressi over and detected alcohol on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody. Miressi was determined to have a blood alcohol content of .14.

Miressi was released on a promise to appear in court later this month.
