Wilton Man Charged with DUI After Falling Asleep at Wheel

The incident occurred on Oct. 5.

Zsolt Papp, 69, of Rolling Ridge Road was arrested on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:09 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. 

According to police, the department received several complaints that a man was asleep at the wheel of his car on Danbury Road, near the intersection of Route 107. 

Police responded, finding Papp asleep at the wheel. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. 

Papp was released on a promise to appear at an Oct. 16 court date. 

Two 19-year-old females were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor following a motor vehicle stop for "defective equipment" on Danbury Road, near its intersection with Route 107, on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Emily Strileckis, of Wolcott, was also charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug parphernalia.

Strileckis, and Sarah Kowats, of Newtown, were issued citations with answer dates of Oct. 19.
