Wilton Man Dies After Accident Possibly Caused by Heart Attack

The man was found by police in an overturned vehicle on Grumman Hill Rd. and taken to Norwalk Hospital.

A 74-year-old Spoonwood Road man passed away at the hospital after being involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in an overturned car, police announced Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, officers responding to reports of a car accident on Grumman Hill Rd. at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, found James Sorrentino in an overturned vehicle. He reportedly told police he'd struck a tree after suffering what he described as a possible heart attack.

Police said at the time of their arrival, Sorrentino was conscious and alert and was transported to Norwalk Hospital. The state medical examiner later informed authorities of Sorrentino's passing while at the hospital.
