Wilton Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Stole Car, Motorcycle

The arrest was made on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

 

Andrew El Massri, 28, of Waterbury was charged with larceny in the third degree following after his alleged theft of a 2007 Jeep Liberty from Wilton in July.

According to police, El Massri allegedly crashed a stolen motorcycle in Ridgefield at about 10 p.m. on July 17. A passerby picked him up and dropped him off at Caraluzzi's about 10 minutes later. El Massri then walked to a Sunset Hill Road residence and allegedly stole the black Jeep from a driveway where it was parked. The residence was about a quarter-mile away, police said.

A few days later, witnesses in Waterbury spotted El Massri driving the vehicle two days later. He was also "witnessed by multiple people with injuries consistent with having been in a motorcycle crash."

Police developed enough probable cause to arrest El Massri on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 12:30 p.m. in Waterbury. He was held on $25,000 bond and taken to court that day.
