Wilton Police Arrest Illegal Alien for DUI
Three men were found to be driving under the influence last week.
Ronaldo Oliva-Cardoza, 39, of Norwalk was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, evading responsibility, driving without a license, failure to drive in the established lane and failure to obey a traffic signal following a car accident on Danbury Road, near Wolfpit Road, on Nov. 4 at 11:32 p.m.
According to police, Oliva-Cardoza was heading north on Danbury Road when he traveled into the southbound lane and struck a vehicle. He then proceeded to drive away. Police stopped Oliva-Cardoza after a short pursuit on Wolfpit Road and found him to be driving under the influence and without a valid driver's license.
Further investigation reveal Oliva-Caroza was in the United States illegally, and he's now the subject of removal proceedings, according to police.

He was held on $2,500 bond and given a Nov. 5 court date.

Jorge Luis Salinas-Jara, 21, of Stamford was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and speeding following a motor vehicle stop on Danbury Road near Scribner Hill Road on Nov. 4 at 4:28 a.m.
According to police, Salinas-Jara was observed speeding. Police stopped him and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken in to custody.
Salinas-Jara was released on a promise to appear at a Nov. 15 court date.

A 59-year-old Weston man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police observed him sitting in his car parked outside Ancona's Wines & Liquors, revving his engine repeatedly.
Stephen Budner, of North Calvin Road, was arrested on Oct. 30 at 6:09 p.m.
According to police, employees at Ancona's contacted them when they saw him revving his engine, which he continued to do until his arrest.
Budner was released on a promise to appear at a Nov. 9 court date.
