Adriana Welby, 22, of Ridgefield was charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Ridgefield Road near Linden Tree Road on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 10:10 p.m.
According to police, a car was pulled over because its right brakelight and left taillight were out. Upon investigation, officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, which led to a search of it. Officers located a small bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the purse of Welby, who was a passenger in the car.
Welby was issued an infraction ticket for the offenses.

On Friday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Canterbury Lane where a driver turned off that road and t-boned a car driving on Dudley Road.
According to police, a witness said that following the accident, the driver of the car that t-boned the other car—a 16-year-old female from Wilton—was seen throwing a small bag into the woods. Police searched the woods and located the bag, which contained small containers with suspected marijuana residue and two pipes.
The youth was referred to juvenile court.
