Woman Arrested A Second Time Following Residential Burglary

A Danbury woman has been arrested for a second time in connection with a burglary at an Olmstead Hill Road home in January.

Wilton Police executed an arrest warrant at a Danbury hotel last Tuesday and took 20-year-old Tori Lynn Alvarez into custody for burglary.

Lt. Donald Wakeman said Alvarez was previously charged in March with third-degree larceny for the break-in, during which approximately $3,300 in miscellaneous jewelry was stolen.

He said while investigators were interviewing her following her arrest, Alvarez admitted to committing the burglary. A second arrest warrant was obtained for Alvarez, this time charging her with third-degree burglary.

Wakeman said Alvarez is acquainted with the homeowner, who was away at the time of the burglary.

He said Alvarez pawned some of the stolen jewelry, and police were able to recover some of it at the pawn shop.

Alvarez, who police say is homeless, was released after posting a $10,000 bond. She was given a court date of June 7.
