BOS Chooses Four Residents for Wilton Security Task Force

Roseann DeSimone, John Suchy, John Logan, and Terrie Schwartz all have experience in public safety and/or security, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

 

Four citizen volunteers were named to the Wilton Security Task Force at the Board of Selectman's Feb. 19 meeting, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

Roseann DeSimone, John Suchy, John Logan, and Terrie Schwartz, who all have experience in public safety and/or security, and were interviewed by First Selectman Bill Brenann and Second Selectman Hal Clark. At total of six candidates were interviewed for the position, so James Curto and Robert Satterwhite will serve as alternates.

According to the Bulletin, specific objectives for the task force wll be addressed at the next BOS meeting on March 4.

The purpose of the Wilton Security Task Force is to investigate and recommend security initiatives for both school and town facilities, in the wake of the tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook School in Newtown.

At a BOS meeting last month, Clark said the task force will have to know where to draw the line on security: "America is a target rich environment and you can't protect everything," he said. "So they will have to think in terms of what we can actually do" as opposed to trying to safeguard against every imaginable scenario.
