Campaign Notebook: Another Spokesperson Leaves McMahon

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Linda McMahon (R): The campaign’s spokesperson resigned after a month on the job for unknown reasons, reports the Associated Press. The previous spokesperson reportedly left the campaign a month ago for family reasons.

Chris Murphy (D) has been buying ads to air during WWE Raw, where McMahon was once CEO.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D) is a co-sponsor of a bipartisan bill that would prevent Congress from being paid if they don’t pass a budget. A constituent on Twitter thanked Himes for sponsoring the “No Budget, No Pay” Act, to which Himes replied, “You’re very welcome.”

Steve Obsitnik (R): An article about the nation’s rising $1.1 trillion in debt was shared on the candidate’s Facebook page. The Bloomberg article quoted the Congressional Budget Office as saying, “the budget outlook for 2013 and beyond will depend on what lawmakers do about tax-and-spending decisions known as the fiscal cliff.”

Should be a litmus test for all candidates

A better litmus test would be: Do you have a brain? Do you understand that Republicans have destroyed the fabric of our economy? That George Bush walked out of office leaving us with more than $12 TRILLION in federal debt when he inherited a surplus from President Clinton? Do you understand that GW Bush lost more jobs in office than any president in history...and that his tax cuts did not produce jobs as promised? Do you understand that robots like Cliff and Evelyn put their partisans interests over those of our great nation...would rather sink our country rather than have Obama re-elected?

IF Go back and read the posts related to the repeal of the Glass Stegal act. That should temper your sentiment if you are open minded. Romney/Ryan are not Bush/Cheney just like Obama is no Clinton. It would be easier for your disposition if you took a look at our debt and then at the alternative plans put forth by Obma/Biden and RomneyRyan you would rationally conclude more of the same will get us nowhere. Nowhere, nowhere.

Repealing G-S was a mistake, granted. And Dodd-Frank does not go far enough, although the Volker Rule repairs part of the damage. But R/R have stated they are not for D-F, want to repeal it. So what are you saying exactly?

Yes, all candidates who wish to declare themselves unfit to hold public office should make pledges to jump into straitjackets. Get a grip.
