News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Linda McMahon (R): David Collins from The Day wrote about the perceived tension between McMahon and Mitt Romney's newly running mate Paul Ryan. He says this comes from McMahon's refusal to support Medicare changes..

Chris Murphy (D): Murphy predicts that rival McMahon will outspend him in the general election campaign, reports the Norwich Bulletin. "I'm going to be outspent five- or ten-to-one in this election," Murphy said.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): Himes released a statment congratulating victors of Connecticut's primary elections. "Earlier today I was proud to cast a ballot for Democratic candidates representing my community in Cos Cob and across the state.  I was thrilled to vote for my friend and future United States Senator Chris Murphy and look forward to the campaign ahead," he said.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Greenwich Time reports that Obsitnik feels that 'Taxmageddon' is inevitable. He said that current tax policies in combination with the Affordable Care Act will lead to almost a half-trillion dollars in tax increases.
