Campaign Notebook: Opponents Use McMahon for Contributions

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Christopher Shays (R), U.S Rep. Chris Murphy (D) and Susan Bysiewicz (D) have all used Republican Linda McMahon's image to garner campaign contributions, reports NECN. They have sent out e-mails to supporters criticizing the WWE and McMahon's stancon on women's health issues, among other things.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): Himes responded to a tweet about a bumper sticker of his being on a car in Maryland:

Connecticut today; tomorrow the WORLD. Bwah hah hah hah.“@amandahoey: Just saw a @jahimes sticker in I-95 in MD. Right on.”

Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik posted on his Facebook page about meeting voters throughout his district this weekend.

How come you always show a picture of Madame La Farge ... I mean Mrs. Vince McMahon for the campaign notebook musings ?? There are lots of other public servents running for re-election who are far more worthy a face recognition help from "The Patch". And Gale and Toni are good looking women. Bill B is a handsome fatherly figure and even retiring Senator Lieberman would add to your pages more then La Linda. Or is Patch just one of her campaign tools ? Along with the weekly robo calls she pounds us all with ....

@Um - I heard WWF CEO Vince Mcmahon bought the Patch for her for as a Christmas present when she was running a few years ago. The gift that keeps on giving ! No wonder they give her such good press - her guys write it and print it - saves on overhead too. No need to bother with those pesky union issues either. Linda for Queen !!
