Drive Your Red Sox Support Home

Fans of the new World Series champs can support Connecticut charities with a new new license plate that supports the Red Sox Foundation.

With Wednesday night's World Series win for the Boston Red Sox, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles reminds Connecticut residents that they can support Connecticut charities that the team supports by purchasing one of the new Red Sox Foundation Connecticut license plates.

Boston Red Sox license plates are available for Connecticut residents who want to support charitable causes in Connecticut. Proceeds from the license plate sales will help fund academic scholarships for Connecticut high school students. The scholarships are awarded based on academic talent, financial need, and a commitment to community service.

The license plate program was unveiled by the Red Sox and DMV at a press conference in Hartford in March. After receiving more than 400 applications, the  license plates were put into production.

Connecticut drivers interested in a Red Sox license plate can visit redsoxfoundation.org to complete the application form. The total cost for the plates is $115 with $65 for the plate costs and $50 to the foundation.
