Author Talk: Gay Talese, 'The Silent Season of a Hero'

Bestselling author Gay Talese will discuss his latest work, "The Silent Season of a Hero: The Sports Writing of Gay Talese" 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Wilton Library. The event is free and open to the public.

This new book features more than forty selections of Talese's sports pieces and his recollections of reporting on athletics and events from the 1940s through his New York Times reporting in which he met major athletes whom he befriended,  such as Joe Louis, Joe DiMaggio, Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali. 

Books will be available for purchase and signing following the talk. Book sales benefit both Elm Street Books and Wilton Library.
