'Are You Smarter' Screening Packs Clune Center

More than 120 l fifth graders stayed late after school on Tuesday, January 24th to participate in the screening test for the (WEF) “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader” game show.  The WEF has been working with the administration at Cider Mill to bring the game show back for a second year.  , as the was packed with 850 students, parents, friends, and alumni.  This year’s show is scheduled for Friday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm.

The Cider Mill fifth graders took a 35 question test that combined questions from language arts, math, science, social studies, world language, music, and art. Some questions were multiple choice, and others required complex calculations.  The students were eager and excited to participate in the test with the hopes of being selected to be on stage to “help” the contestants at the charity event. Cider Mill teachers will work to correct the screening tests and 20 students will be selected to be part of the evening show.  Cider Mill’s Instructional Leaders are busy compiling a bank of questions that will be transformed into the game show format.  Additional information about the March 2nd event is available through the WEF website at wiltoneducationfoundation.org.
