Weather Frightful? It May Impact School Calendar in Wilton

Between Superstorm Sandy and snowstorms last year, school districts around Fairfield County were forced to adjust calendars to compensate for Mother Nature.

With mid-December ushering in snowfall and the first school closures for Wilton, how will the district handle wacky weather if it gets slammed again?

Wilton Public School district calendar allows allows for 181 days of school in accordance with State Law and Board of Education Policy.

If the year must be extended due to emergency closings, the days will be added to the end of the school year. If no such days are used, the last day of school will be June 9, 2014.

Graduation will be held on or after the 181st day. The exact date will be determined by April 1, 2014.
